Hi I am Rudy Rase
The last time I played skateboard was about 40 years ago, circa 1975 - 1979.
In Jakarta - The Capital City of Indonesia - I Joined the skateboarding club at that time, RASE SKATEBOARDING CLUB - The first skateboarding club in Indonesia. I really liked freestyle, slalom and downhill.
I am 52 years old now (2017), I'll try skateboarding (again).
Although freestyle and slalom are not popular today, ( especially in Indonesia). I'll still do it again. While downhill in the present has been taken over by "longboard". So I will also do "downhill" by using longboard. All I remember was Guy "Grundy", the downhill champion in that era. in Signal Hill Speed Run. The world's first downhill skateboard race.
I still remember my idol slalom player at that time were Bob Skoldberg, Henry Hester, Randy Smith, and for the freestyle player were Doug "Pineapple" Saladino, Russ howell, Tom Sims, Bruce Logan and Steve Rocco. At that moment Rodney Mullen did not exist yet. That's why I can't do flatground ollie, but i can do ollie on vert, Because Alan "Ollie" Gelfand had done it at that time on vert. (1978). - if I remember correctly -
Here I will share to you all, How to restart my hobby which I haven't done for 40 years. I must be ready to fall into concrete or asphalt again :) I will start learning ollie on flat ground too.:)

my 40 years old boards. Yes, old school boards, which I found back in the warehouse at my house.
